Lease Terms & Conditions

These conditions apply to every lease of a timepiece through the AUREA WATCH lease programme. They supplement our general Terms & Conditions.

1 — Reservation deposit

A one-off reservation deposit of €500 is required for every lease, regardless of the model or the monthly rate. The deposit is charged together with the first instalment at signing.

The reservation deposit secures your timepiece and your place in the lease programme. It is not a rent payment and is not deducted from your monthly rate.

The deposit is refundable at the end of the lease, provided the timepiece is returned in the agreed condition, on time, and all outstanding amounts have been paid in full.

AUREA WATCH may set off any outstanding rent, late fees, repair costs or excessive wear against the deposit. Any remaining balance is returned within fourteen business days after final inspection.

2 — Lease term and renewal

The standard lease term is twelve months. The yearly rate shown on the lease page is 12 × the monthly rate; paying yearly does not shorten or extend the term.

The lease renews automatically for successive periods of the same length unless cancelled in accordance with section 4.

A lease is personal. The timepiece may be worn by the client named in the quotation, but the lease may not be transferred, sublet or lent to a third party without written approval from AUREA WATCH.

The monthly rate is fixed for the initial term. After renewal, AUREA WATCH may adjust rates with at least one month's written notice; a client who does not accept the adjustment may cancel before the new period starts.

3 — Payments and instalments

At signing, the first instalment and the €500 reservation deposit are due. Subsequent instalments are collected per the chosen interval (monthly or yearly) via our online payment provider.

A failed collection may be retried once. If it still fails, section 6 applies from the original due date.

Payment plans that deviate from the standard interval — for example an agreed schedule in partial instalments — are only valid when confirmed in writing in your personal quotation.

All lease prices include applicable VAT as displayed on the lease page. Transport, insurance during the lease, taxes and duties on delivery outside the quoted scope, and any services not stated in the quotation are charged separately.

4 — Cancellation and early termination

You may cancel the renewal of your lease at any time up to fourteen days before the end of the current period, in writing via sales@aureawatch.com or via your specialist. The lease then ends on the last day of the current period.

Cancelling mid-period does not end your payment obligation for the current period. Rent already paid for the current period is not refunded.

After the end of the term, the timepiece must be returned within seven business days by insured transport arranged or approved by AUREA WATCH, or handed over at our Amsterdam office by appointment.

If you wish to keep the timepiece after the lease, contact your specialist. Any purchase arrangement is a separate agreement and does not automatically convert the lease.

5 — Missed or late payments

If an instalment has not been received within five days after the due date, we send a written payment reminder to your registered email address. A late-payment fee of €25 may be charged per reminder.

If payment is still outstanding fourteen days after the due date, AUREA WATCH may suspend the lease. Handover, servicing and support are paused until the arrears are settled.

If payment is still outstanding twenty-one days after the due date, AUREA WATCH may terminate the lease with immediate effect and request the return of the timepiece. The deposit may be set off against arrears, late fees and recovery costs.

If the timepiece is not returned after termination, statutory interest and extrajudicial collection costs may be charged, and AUREA WATCH may take further steps to recover the timepiece or its value.

Experiencing payment problems? Contact us before the due date. In most cases a short payment holiday or an adjusted schedule can be agreed in writing, as long as the arrears do not exceed one instalment.

6 — Care, wear and return condition

The client wears and stores the timepiece with the care of a good custodian. The watch remains the property of AUREA WATCH at all times during the lease.

Damage beyond normal signs of wear — including impact damage, water damage, unauthorised opening or repair, and loss of parts — is repaired at the client's expense and may be offset against the deposit.

On return, the timepiece is inspected against the condition report made at handover. The client receives the inspection result within five business days.

7 — Insurance and risk

Insurance during the lease is not included in the lease rate unless explicitly stated in your personal quotation. The client is responsible for arranging adequate cover from handover onwards.

Risk of loss, theft or damage passes to the client at handover and remains with the client until the timepiece is received back by AUREA WATCH.

8 — Governing law

Dutch law applies to every lease. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam, without limiting any mandatory right of a consumer to bring proceedings before another legally competent court.

Questions about these conditions may be sent to sales@aureawatch.com. Complaints are confirmed within two business days and answered substantively within fourteen days.
